The Platypus was amazing. From the time I made my reservation until we got off the bus at the conclusion of the day, I received individualized customer attention and follow-up. The day was made enjoyable and participatory by Gary, who was an excellent guide. We discovered A LOT about wine and Napa Valley. I'd adore going on another trip with Platypus.

A wonderful day of wine tasting! Army arrived on time with a luxurious minibus to fetch us up, and we met some beautiful people. Nothing was too much bother for our knowledgeable, witty, and excellent photographer Army, who was also a fantastic driver. Army was the best guide we've ever had. Definitely suggest Platypus Tours for a good time; whether you're a wine expert or a novice, you'll enjoy a day with Army! I sincerely appreciate it.

"The wineries selected were of very low quality."
This tour was a huge letdown. The tour guide did alright. The wineries selected were of very low quality. Homewood was the first. Tolerable but not great. We were eagerly anticipating the picnic lunch and subsequent tasting. The grounds looked good. Lunch consisted of a dry sandwich and a few nibbles. Servings were made outside in the wind and sun (poor planning or better accommodations and food). Sadly, despite the fact that the wine was excellent, it was impossible for us to purchase because they would not ship to Hawaii. We were still billed for the tasting. Roche was the final location. The individual conducting the tasting was lamenting his high level of stress. swiftly poured into stemless wine glasses. Sadly, we chose to have a cheese plate (because the lunch was not so good). We had to protest about how outdated it was. He grabbed it right away and snatched it away. Since we had to leave the following morning and Platypus was our main experience, it's a good thing we conducted a taste on our own the previous day. Truly awful. I don't usually complain about stuff like this, but it was terrible.

Rob Vanoncini, our tour guide, made this a wonderful experience. Steve made great choices for the vineyards we visited, offered insightful comments, and promoted camaraderie among the three couples who joined us on the tour. He also went above and beyond by reserving dinner for my spouse and Myself that evening.

The tip from our friend offended the driver, which didn't seem professional. We also preferred to visit some larger wineries rather than simply the smaller, family-run ones. In the wineries we visited on our own, we had the option of selecting a wine from a list, but on this trip, you had to start with a Chardonnay, which I don't drink, so I missed the first taste. We would have been better off traveling alone, in my opinion.

Going on the tour is not something I advise, especially if Gary Grossman is your tour guide. He was incredibly impolite, nasty, and demeaning. I also think he took advantage of the fact that we were drinking, pretended we were all drunk, and held off on charging us for the trip until the last winery. He also had me leave a tip and insisted that I wait until I had finished before checking to see if I had given him a decent sum. Additionally, my buddy said that Gary added a 17 percent fee to her statement without her consent. I repeatedly asked Gary to change the music because it was so dismal, but he refused and continued to listen to what he wanted instead. Throughout the trip, my friends and I tried to ask him questions about the wineries, but for whatever reason, he wouldn't answer them. He took us to a rather dry and unimpressive lunch spot. We didn't have a very good time overall, and we won't be going back or recommending it to anyone. It was pretty dull and not enjoyable for us. Gary destroyed the whole thing.
