For a one-month job, I found a fantastic cat and house sitter. Three months before our vacation, I interviewed her in my house. So, a few days before our departure, I invited her over for a thorough walkthrough of the house and cat care (he requires numerous medications). She even brought the cat in for a follow-up visit to the vet. Upon our return, everything was in perfect condition. Rover charging my card right away after the sitter accepted the job bothered me, especially because the date was still three months away. I probably wouldn't utilize Rover in this situation again because of this. But, I'll take into account Rover for quick projects with short lead times.

I've had several horrific incidents where a walker misplaced a key. I fitted a ring doorbell and altered my locks after becoming suspicious of the first walker. After being fired, they returned and made an attempt to enter my home. Once I fired the second walker, who had also misplaced a key, she bombarded my phone with furious texts. This required me to replace my home's locks twice in a 10-day period, costing $200 total (including the ring doorbell). Rekeying was rejected by Rover; they claimed it was the walker's expense. It was before the pandemic. I wanted to create a new account when it was time to try again recently, so I could be sure there wouldn't be any reprisals. I tried to create a second account, but Rover wouldn't let me since you can only have one account, they said repeatedly. They demanded that I report the old walkers for using their app and block them (as if I hadn't informed them about the incident BEFORE it occurred). The apps for both walkers are still open. Thanks, but no. Safety is not a priority for this business.

My Harley boy had a great time with Amanda and her family. They care for him like a member of the family, and I feel very fortunate to have discovered Rover. Rover has worked really well for me, and I've only once had a problem. Rover did a superb job of refunding the money given that the incident wasn't Amanda's doing; it was with another sitter.

First and foremost, I'll never utilize them once more. It's been 24 hours since I had a terrible encounter with a sitter, and despite my numerous letters to them. Thank God, I received my money returned from my bank, but Rover, who couldn't give a damn whether the dog sitters mistreated the animals, deserves no credit!
